What is some critical information about the three branches for an essay?

I have an essay on the three branches of government, however, i do not know the question. To study i would like to make an outline for myself, but i've found myself at a loss about what information to put down. My teacher does not appreciate any information that he deems to be too general or "kiddie"- I'm in an AP class. I can't ever seem to get my arguments and points across correctly. Perhaps a nudge in the right direction would suffice.Help please? What is some critical information about the three branches for an essay? From the inception of the 3 branches, the judiciary branch was a "baby" The judiciary branch did not really excercise it's true power until John Marshall extablished judiciary review. Also, it has the power to decide what is constitutional or not.

Executive is the president. I believe he has the right not to appear in front of congress. You may want to write about the ousting of particular political parties, like the federalists, ect.

Legislative- i cant really help you, sorry. Im an AP student as well

Good Luck!

PS dont quote me on anything but the judiciary part. I think that what I put needs quite a bit of critical thinking. could bump you up some points if the prompt calls for it
