What can a identity thief do with my contact information?

I believe an identity thief "stole" my contact information though a craigslist deal. He promised to send me a cashier's check for an item and I have given him my cell phone number, name, and mailing address. Is there anything he can really do with this information? Is there someone I should be contacting or something I should do at this point to protect myself? My worry is that he can somehow use this information to gain access to more important data like my SSN or an account number.
