Where can I find information on requirements to be a teacher in the 1930s?

I am working on a story about a young woman living in rural Michigan in the 1930s. I am thinking of having her be a teacher, but I want to be sure that I hve her at the right age for this. I've been looking for information on what type of schooling she would have needed to teach in the '30s. Any suggestions where I can look?Where can I find information on requirements to be a teacher in the 1930s?Just an idea - most state colleges in the US started as teacher's colleges. Contact your local state college (or one you know was a teacher's college) and ask if they have any information. They probably have someone (probably a librarian) who is an archivist for the school, and will be able to find that information.
