Information?

I am wondering about the Green Beret. I want to know about what kind of preperations you have to take to become one and what you have to do, also what other special forces such as the Green Beret there are. Please list any special forces that you know of.Information? If you possess boundless ideas and creativity and you always think of new ways to organize and strategize, the Army wants to talk. Warfare today has new rules and calls for a different type of Soldier's new warrior.

You need to be mentally superior and creative, highly trained and physically tough. Alone and part of a team, you'll work in diverse conditions, act as a diplomat, get the job done in hostile situations and, at times, establish residence in a foreign country for months.

These Soldiers are part of the Army's Special Forces (SF)'the Army's most specialized experts in Unconventional Warfare.

Special Forces Soldiers are either on a real-world mission or training for one. Their missions are conducted worldwide and are sometimes classified. They range from Counterterrorism missions to humanitarian efforts to Unconventional Warfare.

COUNTERTERRORISM

Special Forces are often deployed to preclude, preempt and resolve terrorist incidents abroad. They prevent, deter and respond to terrorist activities and train other nations' military in the basics of fighting terrorism.

DIRECT ACTION

Direct Action missions are short duration strikes that are used when Special Forces want to seize, capture, recover or destroy enemy weapons and information or recover designated personnel or material.

FOREIGN INTERNAL DEFENSE

This mission is used to organize, assist and train the military and national defense forces of foreign governments to protect their citizens from aggressors.

SPECIAL RECONNAISSANCE

These intelligence-gathering activities monitor as much about the enemy's movement and operations as possible.

UNCONVENTIONAL WARFARE

Special Forces have long employed the use of Unconventional Warfare (UW), a.k.a. guerilla warfare, to train, equip, advise and assist forces in enemy-held or controlled territory.

To become part of the Army's Green Berets, you need to be mentally and physically tough, endure difficult training and face all challenges head-on. In addition to that, you must:

Be a male, age 20-30 (Special Forces positions are not open to women)

Be a U.S. citizen

Be a high school diploma graduate

Achieve a General Technical score of 110 or higher and a combat operation score of 98 on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery.

Qualify for a secret security clearance.

Qualify and volunteer for Airborne training

Take Defense Language Aptitude Battery or Defense Language Proficiency Test

Achieve a minimum of 60 points on each event and overall minimum score of 229 on the Army Physical Fitness Test

http://www.bragg.army.mil/specialforces/Information?Not sure about the army, but the air force has it's share of special forces/special operations jobs.... combat controllers, pararescue, combat weathermen. You'll go through a lot of the exact same training, but the air force will treat you a lot better. Talk to you local recruiting office or go to www.airforce.com for more info!!!! Good luck and happy new year!Information?US Army has Special Forces (that you call green beret), Rangers and Delta operators. There's more info on the internet than you will be able to read. Talk to a recruiter, or better yet, find an active duty soldier that has a Special Forces or Ranger Tab on his shoulder.Information?
The Green Beret is just the beret that the special forces wear. it is something you earn not just something you become. Other special type forces such as delta force (which you have to be selected to try out for). You can enlist in the Army to go special forces (any xray job specifier) or you can join later after you enlist in the army. basically they'll send you to a special forces selection course and IF you make it through that, they might consider picking you up.
