Why is there no information about how the IRS is releasing the Stimulus checks since the mess-up?

I have 3 friends that have received their checks by the first 3 digits of their Social Security number, but there is still no information online about the schedule. I would imagine they are keeping it under wraps so con artists and the like will not be able to produce forgeries. I'm not aware of any--and I work for the IRS. The schedule is for those whose returns were processed by April 15 and is based on the last two digits of the SSN. Those processed after that date may have their payments delayed.



Some payments are coming out earlier than the schedule if they were processed by the newer computer system at the IRS.
