Where can you find good information about retirement destinations?
I heard that many retirement websites are actually owned by real estate companies which talk up different countries because they have property there. Is there anywhere online I can find truthful information that doesn't cost me a bunch of money?Where can you find good information about retirement destinations?One place that I found was http://www.retirementdetectives.com. Thanks to the Yahoo Linux Community, i took my first step and installed Linux Mint Helina into my system. I play around with it a little and really like it but I do not have any knowledge on how to install any drivers.
I tried to install pcwizard so that i could see my system information but unfortunately the software is not compatible with Linux. Hello to my friends on yahoo answers. I am currently in high school and wondering what career field I should go into. I am interested in becoming an Information systems manager or a human resource manager. The questions I will like to ask are:

What do you WANT to do? If you're torn between the 2, how about checking out some of your local businesses and asking about internships? That way, you could "try before you buy" in to a career. You may find that you prefer one over the other, and can tailor your education towards your chosen career.

Some of my apps were recently deleted from my ipod touch but when I plugged the ipod in again they were placed back on to the ipod. However, all of my saved in-app information was deleted. Now every time I sync my ipod it says it's backing up my info so I know it's there. My question is how do I access this info? I don't have a mac. Where can I find online information on reading industrial electronic schematics?
I am going on an interview soon, and they are going to ask me questions regarding industrial electronic schematics. I haven't refreshed my memory on these types of schematics (what I work with now is mostly smaller scale electronics), so I'm worried I won't be able to identify what the schematic is showing as easily as I once was.

In this way, the environment is "communicating" information to the genome of the organism. It is "telling" the organism, "Yes, this trait is favorable if you want to survive in my type environment."
As humans, we are the product of billions of years worth of this process operating on our genome. The information in our DNA came from our environment, and all the past environments that gave rise to us. So you see, there does not need to be a designer or sentient programmer in order for complex organisms to come about. Now, if quantum physics allows for the universe to emerge from a simple beginning and grow in complexity, why not allow the same trend or pattern to occur in other things "within" that universe. Take for example, the way that life unfolds: it starts out as a tiny high-energy low entropy state (just like the universe did) of fertilization, expands and grows in size and complexity from a simple single cell to a complex multicellular organism all without adding or substracting much information, (again, just like the universe). Evolution worked on that life through natural selection to lead from simple life forms to more complex ones. Do you begin to see a pattern there?
What was the origin of evolution and system change as a function of that evolution? Once again, look to the natural source, the beginning of the universe. In particle physics (which describe how subatomic particles behaved during the time of the origin of the universe), there's something called virtual particles. These are subatomic particles that just randomly drop out of the vacuum of space (actually matter and antimatter) and in short order, annihilate one another releasing pure energy and other subatomic particle types. It is this pure energy that can alter the course of a normal stable atom causing it to behave in ways that may not be totally predictable. The point is, subatomic particles are routinely changing form, releasing energy, and other types of particles and then falling back into the vacuum, especially in radioactive materials. Now, what if there was some way to scale that action up to a larger level, our 3-D realm for example. Can you see that maybe, just maybe everything that we think we understand about our world and universe has its fundamental roots within the framework of the quantum world of particle physics? I believe that it does. If a person understand enough about how the subatomic world really works, they can see that our larger 3-D world follows the very same kinds of patterns.
As for the question of moving from simple to complex, in biology there are things call gene amplification where a specific gene may, during translation, get repeated (2 genes where there was just 1 before) and this can have a profound effect on the biochemistry of the organism in question. Then there are viruses that infect origanisms and bring new strands of DNA into that organism's own genome. So, that is another aveune for biology to move from simple to more complex.

Red, green and blue are all HUES of colors. What we call each color is actually just different hues, which is one of the main components of color. The other components are VALUE and SATURATION. The higher the value, the more grey is added to the color. The lower the value, the more white is added to the color. The higher the saturation, the brighter the color, and lower saturation makes the color calmer (like pastels). What you do in greyscale is that you actually play with the tones to have a higher level of detail.

(Actually, I dug it up from my garden where it had been planted in the spring -- it grew beautifully the next year when planted outside again.) You have to keep it by a sunny window, in fact, it is one "houseplant" (if you can call it that) that must be close to the window. As an annual (a plant you grow outdoors for one year), it needs lots of sun and quite frankly, a good soaking when watering. When the flower blooms fade, break them off the plant. This is called deadheading and it forces the plant to continually set blooms throughout the season. I have also found that at some point during the summer, it is best to trim petunias back a little. This produces branchinig and more flowers within a week or so. If you allow a petunia to "vine" too much, it might stop flowering altogether -- I've even seen some die. Hope this helps. A little shot of miracle grow -- a mild solution of it -- every once and while in the winter would not hurt either -- although I have to admit, I've never had to do that and still got lots of winter blooms. I do give potted petunias outside though a couple of such doses of fertilizer throughout the summer growing season. Hope this helps. Good luck. P.S. You can keep them inside in a pot by a bright sunny window.. to take care of them keep them watered.. pick a day.. Say Saturday.. water a glass full of water. or to check to see if it needs water stick your finger in the dirt if it is dry up to your second knuckle it needs water if it is damp no water.
when the blooms die pick them off it will keep them blooming for a very long time. better out side but inside in a sunny spot works too. i use to put mine in hanging baskets in the house just to have something blooming in the winter time..

I think it is better plant the petunia outside or plant it in the pot and place the pot out door,because the plant need lot of sun.Pinch tips about 1 inch to make it bushy. Petunias are pretty easy to care for, and they are so beautiful! They need lots of sun, and lots of water. It is also good to feed them with MiracleGro about once a week or once every other week. If they start to wilt, they need more water. I'm not sure about keeping them inside...I've never done that...but I think it would be okay as long as you have a nice light place for it to be. Also, when there are dead blossoms you need to pinch them off right at the base of the flower. This helps encourage new blossoms and keeps your plant healthy.

How do I organize information on my computer to write a family history from family letters?
I have letters between family members going back to 1860 and I want to be able access the information and collate it.How do I organize information on my computer to write a family history from family letters?I would first scan the letters to make sure that you have a backup in case something happens to the originals. Then I would transcribe them (type out what the letter says).
Then, you could copy and paste the information into one document by date of the letter.

Why is there no information about how the IRS is releasing the Stimulus checks since the mess-up?
I have 3 friends that have received their checks by the first 3 digits of their Social Security number, but there is still no information online about the schedule. I would imagine they are keeping it under wraps so con artists and the like will not be able to produce forgeries. Serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, or 5-HT) is a monoamine neurotransmitter synthesized in serotonergic neurons in the central nervous system and enterochromaffin cells in the gastrointestinal tract.
In the central nervous system, serotonin is believed to play an important role in the regulation of mood, sleep, emesis (vomiting), sexuality and appetite. Serotonin has been thought to play a part in many disorders, notably as part of the biochemistry of depression, migraine, bipolar disorder and anxiety. Recent research suggests that serotonin also plays an important role in liver regeneration and acts as a mitogen (induces cell division) throughout the body.[1]
Isolated and named in 1948 by Maurice M. Rapport, the name "serotonin" is something of a misnomer and reflects the circumstances of the compound's discovery. It was initially identified as a vasoconstrictor substance in blood serum - hence serotonin, a serum agent affecting vascular tone. This agent was later chemically identified as 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) by Rapport, and, as the broad range of physiological roles were elucidated, 5-HT became the preferred name in the pharmacological field.

Biochemistry
Serotonin is found extensively in the human gastrointestinal tract, or gut, as well as in the blood stream.
In the body, serotonin is synthesized from the amino acid tryptophan by a short metabolic pathway consisting of two enzymes - TPH(1,2) and DDC. TPH1 reaction controls the flux through the pathway.

Serotonin taken orally does not pass into the serotonergic pathways of the central nervous system because it does not cross the blood-brain barrier. However, the amino acid tryptophan and its metabolite 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), from which serotonin is synthesized, can and do cross the blood-brain barrier. These agents are available as dietary supplements and may be effective serotonergic agents.
One product of serotonin breakdown is 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5 HIAA) which is excreted in the urine. Serotonin and 5HIAA are sometimes produced in excess amounts by certain cancer tumors, and levels of these substances may be measured in the urine to test for these tumors.

Neurotransmission
The neurons of the Raphe nuclei release 5-HT.[2] These neurons are grouped into about nine pairs, distributed along the entire length of the brainstem. 5-HT is thought to be released from serotonergic varicosities into the extra neuronal space, in other words from swellings (varicosities) along the axon, rather than from synaptic terminal buttons (in the manner of classical neurotransmission). From here it is free to diffuse over a relatively large region of space (%26gt;20μm) and activate 5-HT receptors located on the dendrites, cell bodies and presynaptic terminals of adjacent neurons.
Serotonergic action is terminated primarily via uptake of 5-HT from the synapse. This is through the specific monoamine transporter for 5-HT, 5-HT reuptake transporter, on the presynaptic neuron. Various agents can inhibit 5-HT reuptake including MDMA, cocaine, tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

Pharmacology
The pharmacology of 5-HT is extremely complex, with its actions being mediated by a large and diverse range of 5-HT receptors.
As with all neurotransmitters, the actual effects of 5-HT on the human mood and state of mind, and its role in consciousness, are very difficult to ascertain.
One way of understanding it is through the use of MDMA, which is thought to cause a mass release of 5-HT, possibly by drawing it back through the transporter.
The effects of MDMA are in large part due to the 5-HT, although some think otherwise[3], which floods synapses during an MDMA "roll," an experience which typically includes feelings of well-being, comfort, tactile sensitivity, and, at high doses, feelings of emotional empathy or entactogenesis. (MDMA also releases norepinephrine, and to a much lesser extent, dopamine. MDEA, a closely related drug, appears to be purely a serotonin releasing agent, and lacks the strong stimulant effect of MDMA.)
5-HT receptors are also used by other psychoactive drugs, including LSD, DMT, and psilocybin, the active ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms.

Modulating levels of 5-HT
A variety of psychiatric medications affect serotonin levels, including the monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), atypical antipsychotics, and the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

Antidepressants
The MAOIs prevent the breakdown of monoamine neurotransmitters (including serotonin), and therefore increase concentrations of the neurotransmitter in the brain. MAOI therapy is associated with many adverse drug reactions, and patients are at risk of hypertensive crisis triggered by foods with high tyramine-content and certain drugs.
Some drugs inhibit this re-uptake of serotonin, again making it stay in the synapse longer. The tricyclic antidepressants inhibit the re-uptake of both serotonin and norepinephrine. The newer Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) have fewer (though still numerous) side effects and fewer interactions with other drugs.
Recent research conducted at Rockefeller University shows that in both patients who suffer from depression and in mice that model that disease, levels of the p11 protein are decreased. This protein is related to serotonin transmission within the brain.[4]

Antiemetics
5-HT3 antagonists such as ondansetron, granisetron and tropisetron are important antiemetic agents. They are particularly important in treating the nausea and vomiting that occur during anticancer chemotherapy using cytotoxic drugs. Another application is in treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting. Applications to the treatment of depression and other mental and psychological conditions have also been investigated with some positive results.

Deficiency
Deficient (and sometimes, excessive) intake of various dietary minerals, drugs, and vitamins can lead to disturbed levels of serotonin via disrupting either the production or reuptake processes.

Serotonin syndrome
Care must be taken in any attempt to increase serotonin levels, as a dangerous condition known as serotonin syndrome may result. This is especially a concern if multiple serotonergic agents interact to increase 5-HT levels - such as can happen when an MAOI is taken in combination with an SSRI.

How can I get the company that provides false information to the employers remove my record?
There is a company USIS ( http://www.usis.com/default.aspx ) that provides the new employers with the false information about me. And I end up not getting hired by the new companies.
